A Lifetime of Service
With over 39 years of dedicated service in the fire industry, Kent is no stranger to answering the call—whether it's suiting up on the front lines or helping departments build the perfect fire apparatus. He has served as Captain with both the City of Sumter and Sumter County Fire Departments, providing leadership in the field while influencing the broader evolution of emergency vehicle design.
Decades of Apparatus Expertise
For 36 years, Kent has been immersed in the world of fire truck and ambulance sales and design, guiding countless departments through the specification process. His hands-on knowledge of chassis, layouts, equipment configurations, and product construction constraints makes him a powerful ally for departments trying to strike the right balance of functionality, safety, and budget.
He’s worked with several major manufacturers, giving him a wide lens on what's possible—and a clear understanding of what’s practical.
A Teacher, Mentor, and Leader
Kent’s passion for public service doesn’t end at the fire station. As a certified fire service instructor in South Carolina, he’s helped train and mentor the next generation of emergency responders, sharing the kind of real-world insight that only comes from decades in the field.
More Than a Sales Leader
When he’s not designing fire trucks or mentoring future firefighters, Kent switches gears—literally. He serves as Stage Manager at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, SC, leading backstage crews for major touring acts and large-scale productions. And if you’re ever at a private event in the Southeast and spot a pro DJ behind the booth? That just might be Kent, too.
