Exciting news! Southeastern Specialty Vehicles has a new president!

Henderson, NC – Nikki Mullen, President and CEO has stepped out of the role as President of SSV to pursue other business ventures on her family farm. She will now hold the title of CEO. Nikki will still be involved in the business at a higher executive level. With her stepping out of this position, long time employee, April Phelps will be stepping into the role of President.

April was born and raised in Henderson, NC where our shop is located. She is married to her high school sweetheart Justin. The two of them have two beautiful children, Michaela & Jay. April has been an intricate part of Southeastern Specialty Vehicles for the last 18 years. She primarily focused on the inventory side of the business in the early 2000s. In 2019 she moved into a role to oversee all business operations. She was promoted to Vice President of Business Operations in May of 2021. April is well versed in all aspects of the company’s day to day operations and has proven to be a leader amongst her team. April is excited to have the opportunity to fulfill this role and continue to move SSV forward with her team. She is looking forward to leading the finest team in the industry alongside Vice President, Robert Daugherty. April & Robert are looking forward to taking Southeastern Specialty Vehicles to the next level in emergency vehicles.

Donald Pleasants, Founder & Chairman of the Board, will be moving into a retirement role. Donald has spent over 40 years building teams in our industry to take care of the men and women that take care of all of us in our time of emergency. Donald will still be involved on the business side and you all will still see him at conferences, as he’s not quite ready to completely hang up his hat. We are hopeful that Donald will take some time to relax and spend time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. His move to retirement is well deserved!
